About Us
Offering fun & friendly small group fishing tours in Kaikōura, you can expect a great day on the ocean aboard our purpose built 6.2m Osprey Boat, “First Light”.
Your fully qualified skipper, Malcolm Halstead, has 35 years’ experience fishing in the waters of the South Island of New Zealand and
it’s Malcolm’s goal to make sure you have the most memorable fishing experience whilst visiting here in Kaikōura.

Our Trips
All our trips leave from the safe port of South Bay Marina, Kaikōura. Once on the water it is only a short trip to our abundant fishing grounds, where you can expect some truly exceptional fishing action. All this is going on while you are surrounded by impressive local wildlife in the breathtaking scenic back drop of the Seaward Kaikōura ranges,including the majestic Mount Fyffe. At the end of a great trip your catch will be processed, bagged and ready for you to take home & enjoy.

What We Expect to Catch
The fishing has to be seen to be believed with good catches of Perch and Blue Cod to be expected along with the once in a lifetime experience of assisting with the checking of some craypots. You will be encouraged to help out with the pots to get a feel for how this industry works.
All fish caught by you will be filleted on board by your Skipper Malcolm and ready for you to take home and cook, you might even be lucky enough to take a crayfish home too!
